South Coast Road Trip

Friday, 7th July 2017. Road trip? Why not?

So this is my second story about long road tripping with my friends. I had a long road trip before, you can read it here (Indonesian). Road trip or people said in my country as Touring (still the same thing, and not necessary) is always held every holiday by many people, especially by motorcycle community. So that's why we wanted to do it as well.

It began in the early friday morning, about 5 a.m. As usual, I went to my friend's home to gather in there. There were 5 friends of mine who joined with 3 motorcycles. After we got prepared and we were ready, then we went at 5.30 a.m. We first fill our gasoline motor at gas station in Banjaran. We was not forgot to fill gasoline to bottles for backup. There are some different roads to go to our destinations, but we chose the nearest road which is by Cisewu, Pangalengan Region. Now the trip was to begin.

I rode my motorcycle with my friend. It felt cold when I was riding in that time, because we was riding across Pangalengan which is known for its coldness. We rode about one and half hour across Pangalengan. I remember when I was passing the Cileunca Lake, it is really astounding. It was like a biggest mirror in the world, it reflects the sky. I told you that is was astounding, really astounding. Then I passed it, but the landscape didn't stop there. There was the Cukul Tea Garden with its beautiful view in the sunny morning but still felt cold. That's the best part in road tripping by a motorcycle. You can see how beautiful view around you, and you can draw your breath and feel fresh air around you, plus you can feel how the wind blows through your skin.

An hour later I passed the Cukul Tea Garden. It was just a small road with many of rice fields and a couple of houses around us, but I don't know what is that village name, then we was just riding. A few hours later we took a break in a village, but I can't remember what its village name. What I remember is just I ate a porridge and my friend fill the gasoline there. We took a break about 20 minutes, then we continued our trip.

Finally after a few hours, I can saw the sea. I can saw it from a highland, it was wonderful. I thought I will be arrived soon, but no. It took about one more hours to arrived in our destination. On the way there, the road was in beside the coast and the wind was blowing so fast. My helmet glass almost detached, fortunately it's safe. Then after that, we saw the gate to Sayang Heulang Beach, that is our destination. Yeah, we did it!

We arrived there about 10.30 a.m. Then we rent a lodging for one day, and it is really cheap, just cost Rp.150.000 or about $11.24. That lodging is named Penginapan Gege. Firstly, we stored and tidy up our stuff. After that, we ate because we were very hungry. My friend brought some timbel rice, and we ate together. Then we went to a mosque, because it was friday and we have to do jumu'ah.

After we did jumu'ah, we went to the beach and as usual, we took many photos, and my friend was live on his Instagram. It felt a bit warm there because of the sunny day. But the wind was just blowing so fast. Then we went back to the lodging and we took a rest.

In the afternoon, we went back to the beach for chillin' and waiting for a sunset. At that time, I was recording videos, because I planned that I will make an instagram video. Many of my friends busy themselves taking their photos each other, so am I. Then the sunset has to begin. It was really magnificent as usual.

And because this beach is a bit far to our lodging, so we went back before the sky turns dark and before the sea tides because we have to cross a small river and if the sea tides happened , it will make the small river turns into a big river. And what a surprise! Look at this!

It's just clouds in sunset time but it looks like an aurora. Well, I haven't seen an aurora before, but it looks like an aurora. Well, I edited that photo, but when you see with your eyes directly, it was better than this photo. And then after that I was still keep recording videos until we went back to the lodging. In the night, we took a dinner by ate cuanki, and we were chatting and joking as usual. Until we get tired and sleep.

In the early morning next day, I woke up at 4.30 a.m. I drank a cup of coffee. The sky was cloudy and the temperature was cool. We have planned that we will going to a place called Bukit Teletubbies (Teletubbies Hill), named it because the land on that hill is like teletubbies's house, but I don't know exactly. As usual, we took many photos for Instagram.

After that we went back to the beach and we were swimming there for an half hours, because we have to prepare to go back home. Of course we took more photos there. And after that we back to the lodging and we prepare our stuff and ready to go home. Before that, we had a breakfast first. Then we started about 9 a.m. But we didn't pass the way when we went here (Cisewu Way). We chose a way through Nagreg, It took more time about one hour than the Cisewu Way. I think it feel the same as Cisewu Way. In 12 p.m we took a rest in Garut, and we continued in 12.45 p.m. On the way to home, we saw a Harley Davidson motorcycles convoy behind us. So we followed them to accelerate more fast. A few hours later, we arrived in Bandung. Finally I arrived at home at 4.30 p.m.

This is my longest and best road trip so far. I hope one day I can do a longer trip than this.

Koromong Mountain Peak

Saturday, 8 April 2017. I got a message from my friend. He invited me to hike a mountain. And I was like "Are you sure?", because I've never hike a mountain before. And he said that it will be okay, because this mountain is not that high, it's just about 3500ft above sea level. So I said, I'm in. Before that, I really want to hike a mountain, indeed. But there are no friends who want to. So this is my opportunity to hike a mountain. Then I prepared and packed many stuff.

At evening, I went to my friend's house, to gather with my other friends. We were waiting and preparing what things we should bring. But there is something we need but any of us didn't have it. So my friend and I go to supermarket to buy it. Actually it is a gas for a stove. After we got it, we went back to my friend's house and tested it. One thing I remember is when we were testing the stove, it spraying fire and hit my friend's face. But my friend's face is okay, we laughted instead. About quarter hour later, we were ready to go.

The starting point of the mountain is pretty close to my friend's house, just took 10 minutes by a motorcycle. After we got in there, we were getting ready again, and then we prayed. I was in the front of the last row. That night was really silent and dark, just sounds of some insects and just light from our flashlight. I thought it will be easy to do, well it was easy at the beginning but, it was getting harder and harder to do. In 30 minutes after we started, we took a rest, because our feet felt stiff. About 5 minutes after we rest, we hike back.

Really, it is so hard to do for beginner like me. My body felt so tired, and my heart didn't stop beating fast. After 40 minutes, we took our second rest. I'm still remember in that time I almost fainted. We stop for about 5 minutes. When we felt good, we continue our way. Just 15 minutes after that, we arrived at the peak of the mountain. Finally, I can lie down, because all of my body felt weary.

I thought it won't be many people there, but it was. A few of my friends were assembling a tent. While I just sat and looked at the scenery around. It was really magnificent scenery, the lights from cities around the mountain.

After the tent assembled, we put our stuff on there. Then we made some cups of coffee, and we were enjoying the scenery while we were chatting. It was about 11 p.m and I felt very sleepy, so I decided to sleep. But a couple minutes later, sounded someone singing. Then I got out from tent and saw that my friend's friend was singing. Because it seems funny, so I joined my friends to watch him singing in front of a camp fire, while warming up. An hour later, we all slept.

At 4 a.m I woke up, some of my friends were already woke up while the others still sleep. Because we were hungry, so we cooked instant noodles and ate it. After that, we clean up trashes around us. A few hours later the sun was rising, but we can't see it clearly because the sky is cloudy.

We took many photos for instagram. And after that we tidy up the tent and our stuff and we ready to go home. Evidently, a way to go home is quite difficult, because the way is wet and slippery. So we must be careful. Although we careful, we keep falling. And because we keep falling, we even deliberately slided ourselves. We took about an hour and half to arrived to the starting point. And finally we got in there with dirty condition, but it's okay. So, that's my first experience to hike a mountain, I won't forget it.
